During the week of October 22-26, 2007, the nation will be rocked by the biggest conservative campus protest ever – Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, a wake-up call for Americans on 200 university and college campuses.
The purpose of this protest is as simple as it is crucial: to confront the two Big Lies of the political left: that George Bush created the war on terror and that Global Warming is a greater danger to Americans than the terrorist threat. Nothing could be more politically incorrect than to point this out. But nothing could be more important for American students to hear. In the face of the greatest danger Americans have ever confronted, the academic left has mobilized to create sympathy for the enemy and to fight anyone who rallies Americans to defend themselves. According to the academic left, anyone who links Islamic radicalism to the war on terror is an "Islamophobe." According to the academic left, the Islamo-fascists hate us not because we are tolerant and free, but because we are "oppressors."

what does MSA-West have in mind as far as action so far? It would be nice to see some sort of unified response across all campuses not just on the West Coast but through a larger organization such as MSA-National that has been looking to get involved/connect with the MSA/Us across the nation. Let's be preemptive for a change and not just reactionaries.
I'm undecided on this too. In all cases, our action/reaction would be more effective if we get other like-minded student organizations, campus leaders, and professors to join in too.
David H. has launched several attacks on "liberal professors" so maybe that'll be enough to convince those professors to help us counter this hateful event.
Rather than criticise this specific program, I think we need to discredit the whole organization and its founders for being so hateful and intolerant (check out the list of recommended readings on their website).
If we do this early enough, we may be able to discourage campus organizations from sponsoring the program to begin with.
A strong, unequivocal statement condemning Islamic terror (including Palestinian terror), calling for the end of jihad against Coalition and Iraqi forces, recognizing Israel's right to exist - and demanding that American Muslims "clean house" regarding using American mosques, madrassas, and business ventures to recruit for and fund terrorism - would be your best foot forward in responding to IFAW.
They are a bunch of right wing MaCarthy wing nuts. I suggest MSA's continue the work they do, doubling efforts on creating coalition, but more so working on issues that are not only "muslim centered" but more so relevant to everyone- Health care, education, campaign finance...just some idea's.
Because the truth be told, these guys putting this crap on will not get much attention and they will not get it because their message is extreme and its bigoted and driven by the notion to fear the other. Ignore them. Even if you do what they want you to do there will be millions of other things that they will throw in your face, that is if the MSA's or Muslims even are guilty of what they accuse all Muslims of. (I think they wont be happy even if you stopped being Muslim, so why bother?)

Actually America is a secular country with a large Christian majority (about 80%). Judaism is a piece of crap religion; no democracy anywhere in the Torah, only theocratic fascist monarchs like King David or Solomon.
I suggest the MSA counter protest with a "Judaism Awareness Week". Lets be frank here; David Horowitz is a Jew, just as most people who attack Muslims.

wow. Hate has no bounds. I am sorry that you see Judaism that way. there are many things and developments that came through Jewish culture and study that are present in what you describe as "america's secularism".
Whether Horowitz is Jewish is not the point of contention. The fact is just as there are people who claim to be Muslim and cause pain and suffering, there are those who are or claim to be Jewish and Christian who spread fear, hate and death (Iraq war).
Hate does not have a race, religion or nationality, nor does it have a age or gender. Its something that exists out of fear, hatred cultivated by fear and not knowing the "other". Granted Horowitz probably is educated enough to know better, however, greed also plays a factor to push hate as a tool to get more.
So no this is not a Jewish/Muslim thing. Nor is should it ever be framed as such. This is about what a marginalized extremist perspective wants America to be, and how we all must stand up and shore up what we know to be America, or its potential at least.

The nations of Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America are the poorest nations in the world. Add to that the Christian Phillipines.

The most affluent nations are the secular European Benulux states; Luxenburg, Belgium, etc.
Instead of making fun of people and countries who are poor and suffer from diseases maybe you should consider helping out. I personally give to charity without regard to race, religion, nationality, or ethnicity. But if you are a bigoted against other groups, you should still give to people with similiar demographic aspects as yourself. Every little bit helps :)

If these "anonymous" are Muslim then shame on you. You know full well that the teachings of the Prophet outline the due respect and place given to the "People of the Book". Having lived through the sixties and been active on campus at many a peace demonstration, I can testify to the powerful impact that events like this can have. I am shocked and ashamed that my alma mater, Arizona State University, is one of the host-campuses of IFAW.
This can only encourage hate, hate crimes, prejudice and mistrust among Americans. This is how countries are defeated. I'm sure you have heard the expression, "United we stand, divided we fall." This is a perfect example of how propaganda is used to divide and conquer.
To use religion combined with the dreaded "F" word is a stroke of genius for David Horowitz. He is of Jewish descent and would, by definition, be anti-Islam. Thus, part of his motivation.
I strongly suggest that anyone who is concerned for the future of this country "google" the following: "Fourteen Defining Characteristics of Fascism" After reading that, think about who the real fascists are in this world. George W. Bush comes to mind.
Whether or not you believe that 9/11 was an inside job, whether you believe that the war in Iraq ia all about US domination of the world and the control of oil and gas, you have to pause and think about what is really going on in this country. Every single characteristic has been used by or demonstrated by the power-elite in the United States.
Please, if you attend this event, keep an open mind. Don't believe everything you hear. Take it all in then do some research on your own. Make up your own mind. Don't allow right-wing/left-wing...any group...make up your mind for you. Think about who your neighbors are. Think about what makes up the citizenship of this country.
