interesting its another boycott themed post- LOL. But on a serious note, i was being serious above too, Islam encourages spending in the way of good, not in material hording, unfortunately its so easy to fall in the trap of needing things I dont need because its so pervasive around me, it being the mechanism to "buy this" and "buy that".
I wish there were medicine for curing such a thing, i definitely would buy it.
This reminds me of the documentary I watched twice in high school titled: Affluenza. Talking about the costs of materialism in our society and the overconsumption in our lifestyle. (It's up on YouTube if you want to check it out :) ) But thats besides the point, Muslamics has been doing great with bringing current issue's to light so that we discuss and have knowledge about issues we don't normally see or hear about. Knowledge is key to everything. Jazaky Allahu khayran for this video Yesi!
The term Muslamics is a cross between Muslims and Islamics, and makes light of the many erroneous labels placed upon Muslims.
As Muslims living in America, we are part of a daily struggle to define ourselves and forge new identities, at a time when our community, and specifically Muslim activists, are in the limelight. Part of this struggle is to reclaim our language.
We are proud to be Muslims and we believe it is part of our duty to convey to others who we are and what we stand for. Therefore, we will take the name Muslamics - originally used as a derogatory term against Muslims - and expose the ignorance behind it, as well as give it a new and positive meaning.

Jax for posting Sister Yesi. It's a great reminder about the things I've got to work on.
