The One Thing Clinton & Obama Agree On

Obama's first first foreign policy speech of the general election campaign entailed him "whoring" himself out to AIPAC this morning. Sad, right? On the bright side, at least we now know for sure that Clinton and him agree on one thing: ensuring the Palestinian people continue to suffer under iron fist of Apartheid Israel.

Hillary Clinton
:
"It has been an honor to contest these primaries with him. It is an honor to call him my friend. And let me be very clear: I know that Sen. Obama will be a good friend to [apartheid] Israel."

Barack Obama:
Rumors have been circulating at least since last year that Obama is a Muslim and does not support the Jewish state. He is a Christian and said at the conference he is a "true friend of [apartheid] Israel," earning applause.

As ugly as it is, "whores" is the perfect word for it. He didn't even give us a chance to hope for a change!

I'd hate to be one of the Muslims who voted or campaigned for him.

I don't know how you can be Muslim and support someone who insists on proclaiming that he is pro-Muslim killing.

how disappointing. i dont know who to vote for anymore. hilary is for war in the middle east and now obama has declared himself a friend to israel. whats even more tragic is that obama has refused to wear a US flag pin on his lapel the whole time he has been campaigning and now he wearing one with the israeli flag on it.

I'm as disappointed with his sucking up to AIPAC as the next person, but when it comes to politics I think we need to be realistic. No president will ever be elected without AIPAC's support, and the dems are up against the Christian right (ps: everyone should watch Jesus Camp - its highly disturbing). I'd hate to be the one that didn't exercise my right, and let the conservatives take over.
i don't mean to be complacent, or dilute the issue - but if we don't vote for the democratic candidate, who are we going to vote for? McCain - another Republican to continue the racist policies that this administration has perpetuated? Nader - while i may agree with his position, the reality is that an independent cannot win, and will only take away votes? worst possible situation - don't vote? by not voting we're throwing away our voice in this society.
call me jaded, but at this point i can't see our prospects getting any worse.
If we want to make a change, we need to see the bigger picture. Right now, we are faced with monumental challenges within the United States that makes us ineffective in changing foreign policy. Its my belief that we need to focus on getting back on track in the domestic sphere, build up credibility and then effectuate change in the middle east.
I am a proud and active Muslim - and I will be voting for Barack in November. Don't hate.
