Finkelstein Arrested in Israel

And the American academic Norman Finkelstein has been arrested and ordered deported from Israel. Finkelstein arrived in Tel Aviv earlier today on his way to the Occupied Territories. He was immediately detained and told he is banned from Israel for ten years. He’s expected to be deported tomorrow. Finkelstein is known one of the most prominent academic critics of Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and Gaza.

that is technically not being arrested. It is called deniel of entry. I worked on several cases here in the US, socal and neveda, and it happens mroe often then you can imagine.

If Finkelstein was actually arrested he would have rights, legal rights, unfortunately when you are detained and denied entry, you get treated like a common criminal and have absolutely no rights and no recourse to clear things up.

A message from N.F.:

"Before rumors report my premature death, I was kept in a holding
cell for 24 hours and then deported to Amsterdam. It wasn't a Belgian bed and breakfast but it wasn't Auschwitz either (although after six hours of abusive treatement I did call them "f* Jewish Nazis," not taken well). It seems that to see Musa and his family again, I'll have to wait
until the end of the occupation. I have been banned for "at least 10
years." Another incentive to work towards ending the occupation."
